3rd Level Sailing Licence Course - Milano Office
Water Tribe, in collaboration with the nautical school of Andareavela of Genova, holds three sessions per year of the theoretical course for the sailing licence without coastal limits. The sailing licence for pleasure boats permits one to conduct motor and sailing craft up to 25 meters long without limits on the motorization or the distance from the coast. The course is divided into 4 sections (fundamentals, correspondence, rules and regulations, and meteorology), at the completion of which there will be tests focused on the single arguments and further written and oral practice exams. We offer different didactic options to satisfy various needs:
Standard Course - Milan Office and Genova
In the standard course, lessons of 2 and a half hours are held in the Milan office, and the weekends are held in Genova. After the 16 lessons, the course is completed in a weekend in Genova during which students perform different practice exams and practical trials aboard watercraft. This way they can further develop the theories learned in the classroom. The cost of participation in this course is €520 and includes didactic instruction, didactic material (triangular protractor, compass, nautical map, textbook, and exercise book), assistance for the exam, presentation of the questions to a port authority, watercraft rental for the practice exam, a weekend of practice in the sea, and Water Tribe insurance. This price does not include the necessary medical exam, payment of government taxes for exam registration (€220), transport to Genova, and the insurance membership for 2012 (€50). Full Immersion - Milan Office and Genova
The Full Immersion is a new type of course for those who wish to earn their sailing licence but are not able to attend class twice a week. Instead, they can finish the course in three weekends at the Milano office and one weekend in Genova. The course is characterized by alternating theoretical lessons with correspondence exercises during which the teacher and students work on different thematic exercises. The classes in the office are then paired with a weekend in Genova for the opportunity to practice different simulations of the exam on the actual watercraft used for the exam. This further develops the theoretical themes addressed and learned in the classroom. The cost of the course is €620 and includes didactic instruction, didactic material (triangular protractor, compass, nautical map, textbook, and exercise book), assistance for the exam, presentation of the questions to a port authority, watercraft rental for the practice exam, a weekend of practice in the sea, and Water Tribe insurance. Personalized Courses - Milan Office and Genova
Water Tribe has created a specific solution for those who cannot fit the standard courses into their schedule. Often times, the major difficulty in taking the sailing licensing course is not being able to find the time. In order to help you out, Water Tribe offers yet another option: a personal private training session for a minimum of 6 people. The correspondence and theory teachers can hold lessons at offices or professional studios, giving the students maximum discretion regarding the timetable and logistics. The cost of the course is based on the number of participants: 6 people, €620 per student; 8 people, €570 per student; over 8 people: € 520 per student. The price of the course includes didactic instruction, didactic material (triangular protractor, compass, nautical map, textbook, and exercise book), assistance for the exam, presentation of the questions to a port authority, watercraft rental for the practice exam, a weekend of practice in the sea, and Water Tribe insurance. This price does not include the necessary medical exam, payment of government taxes for exam registration (€200), transport to Genova, and the insurance membership for 2012 (€50). The 16 lessons are organized upon request and could be held every Monday and Wednesday or every Tuesday and Thursday. Tutor
The Water Tribe teachers are available for make-up lessons or practice exams soon before the exam date for single students or groups. Lessons start at €50; this cost is only indicative and could vary if the lesson will be held outside of Milan. Lessons are organized upon request.
How to Sign Up for the Third Level Sailing Courses
Registration for the third level sailing licensing course is very simple. First, verify the availability and dates by contacting the Milan office via email (segreteria@watertribe.it) or via telephone (+39 02 49464896). Fill out the registration form and send via fax (+39 02 49464892):
- the appropriate form (request it from the office)
- a medical certificate
- a receipt of payment of the course and participation costs (found on the form)

The Milan office is a modern and eclectic space, with a loft looking out onto a quiet courtyard through large windows that provide lovely, natural light. How to reach it: the Milan office at number 10 Via San Michele del Carso is adjacent to the Piazzale Baracca and intersected by Corso Vercelli and Corso Magenta. Tram lines numbers 16 and 19 stop at Baracca. The Metropolitan MM Line number 1 (Red Line) stops at Conciliazione, not far from the office.
